StarNoculars™ app for iPhone and iPad

StarNamer® introduces the StarNoculars™ iPhone app. StarNamer® is the best place to name a celestial star since 1999. StarNoculars™ is an app that allows you to enter a StarNamer® star registration number on your phone, see your star name and then gives you directional arrows to point your phone right at your star. Then you can enter camera mode and take a picture of your star. This is the app you have been waiting for so that you can locate the star you have named in the field.

In addition, you can search for a celestial object by right ascension and declination. Select the search icon and enter a numeric right ascension and declination separated by a comma. Three formats are supported. For example: 88.4027583,36.1304028 or 5:53.61,36:7.82 or 5:53:36.662,36:7:49.45 are all supported. Then you can select the target icon so the app will display directional arrows to position the phone at the celestial object. For a skilled telescope user, with the appropriate eyepiece phone adapter, you can turn your phone into a GoTo finder scope. Please note depending on the compass in your particular iPhone results may vary.
